Account Information

• An opaque identifier from your sign-in provider (Google or, on iOS, Apple) used solely to recognize returning users. We do not collect or store your name, email address, or profile picture.

Session Information

• Names you submit for consideration
• Your rankings and preferences
• Session codes and metadata
• Timestamps of your activities

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the NameDecider service
• Create and manage your naming sessions
• Enable collaboration with other users
• Calculate mutually agreeable name rankings
• Authenticate your identity
• Improve our service

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:

• With other participants in your naming session (names and rankings only)
• When required by law or legal process
• To protect our rights or prevent harm

5. Sign-in Providers

We support Google OAuth on all platforms and Sign in with Apple on iOS. We do not maintain our own password database.

Google

• We request only the OpenID Connect "openid" scope, which gives us a stable anonymous identifier and nothing else
• We do not access your name, email, profile picture, contacts, calendar, or any other Google data
• You can revoke access through your Google account settings

Apple

• We use Apple's identity token to receive a stable anonymous user identifier and nothing else
• We do not access your name, email, or any other Apple account data, even if Apple's sign-in sheet offers to share it
• You can revoke access on your device under Settings → Apple ID → Sign in with Apple → NameDecider

6. Data Storage and Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:

• Secure HTTPS connections
• Encrypted database storage
• Regular security updates
• Limited access to personal information

7. Data Retention

• Sessions are retained indefinitely while the service is active
• Account information is retained while your account is active
• You may request deletion of your data at any time

8. Guest Users

If you use NameDecider as a guest:

• We only collect the name you provide for the session
• No permanent account is created
• Your data is retained with the session

9. Children's Privacy

NameDecider is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal information
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Opt-out of data collection by not using the service
• Export your session data

11. Cookies and Tracking

We use minimal cookies necessary for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or analytics services.
